Bronze Bhaisajyaguru, Medicine, Buddha statue.
 
The Buddha is in the Bhumisparsha mudra position, the earth touching gesture. His right hand is extended towards the ground and his left hand is resting in his lap.
The Buddha statue is seated in the arda padmasana or half lotus position, with one leg on top of the other.
The Buddha has a serene facial expression and a long finial that extends from the top of his head.
In his left hand he holds a bowl of amrita, healing nectar. In his right hand the Buddha holds the myrobalan plant (terminalia chebula) a potent healing panacea.
 
The practice of Medicine Buddha is not only a very powerful method for healing and increasing healing powers both for oneself and others, but also for overcoming the inner sickness of attachment, hatred, and ignorance, thus to meditate on the Medicine Buddha can help decrease physical and mental illness and suffering.
